Distance learning

Distance learning techniques strengthen the training capacities of developing countries. They are used to :

  • Facilitate updating of pedagogical material
  • Strengthen cooperation among training centres using the pedagogical methodology of UNCTAD
  • Provide greater flexibility in training activities
  • Strengthen communication among centres, countries and regional members of the network in order to maximize the impact of training activities

Strategy

Our distance-learning team customizes the new information and communication technologies to the trainees' needs.

It conducts training along the following lines:

  • Development of pedagogical material adapted to a hybrid approach that combines face-to-face training activities with distance learning
  • Evaluation of the distance-learning training networks available in partner countries, in particular in the least developed ones
  • Review of distance-learning training activities developed and carried out by other agencies or institutions, the objective being greater cooperation between operators to maximize synergies and avoid overlap
  • Adaptation of training methods to local realities
  • Facilitation of local partnership agreements between operators
