Office international des épizooties
As the world organisation for animal health, the main objectives
of the OIE are to: inform Governments of the occurrence and course
of animal diseases throughout the world, and of ways to control
these diseases coordinate, at the international level, studies devoted
to the surveillance and control of animal diseases harmonise regulations
for trade in animals and animal products among Member Countries.

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)
(APEC) was formed
in 1989 in response to the growing interdependence among Asia-Pacific
economies. Begun as an informal dialogue group with limited participation,
APEC has since become the primary regional vehicle for promoting
open trade and practical economic cooperation. |
Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
The ASEAN nations came
together with three main objectives in mind: to promote the economic,
social and cultural development of the region through cooperative
programmes; to safeguard the political and economic stability of
the region against big power rivalry; and to serve as a forum for
the resolution of intra-regional differences. . |
