It is a trading platform of raw materials for steel industry (ferro alloys, bulk ores, base metals, minor metals and industrial minerals). Services provided: logistics, financing, insurance, inspection, processing and up-dated news.

 
E-steel This site is dedicated to international steel trade. Registration is free, but subject to some investigation. The site provides news on international market, reports on steel industry and services such as credit facility. The site was conceived in early 1998 and inaugurated its first transaction on Sept. 7, 1999.
Ferrous Exchange This platform provides an auction and a bullet board for international trading of metallics and semi-finished, hot and cold rolled, coated, bar and structural. The site provides as well financial and logistics services. Trade started in September 2000.
GSX GSX will be trade from raw materials to finished steel products. The site is owned by Duferco, Cargill, Samsung and TradeArbed. According to them, 11 mills throughout the world have already pledged to trade US$ 3 billion through this exchange during the next two years.. Founded in Jan. 2000, the site is announced to be operational during first quarter of 2001.
iSteelAsia

Based in Hong Kong, it deals with flat, long and raw steel materials. Owner of the site is an independent company iSteelAsia Ltd which shares are traded in the Hong-Knog Stcok Echange.
It is now also setting up iSteelIndia.

Trade started in November 99. Transaction volume exceeds US$100 million in the first quater of year 2000.
Metals-Russia The platform is based in Israel owned by Internet & Technology Group Ltd (an e-commerce company). It is an auction dedicated to a supply role connecting Russian metals manufacturers with buyers worldwide.  
This site is dedicated to metals' trade. Based in the US, suppliers are american but it is possible to buy from around the world. Buyers can look through a number of registrated suppliers and products which belong to a catalog, and place a bid. There are no advertisments of buyers. Buyer and seller registrations are subject to MetalSite approvance. There are other services: news, quotes, reports on industry and international market, credit facilities within the US.  
MetalSmart Metal Smart is a platform based in New York with offices in Brazil, China, Germany, Mexico and Russia. It is a global procurement portal for the steel and mining industry covering ferro-alloys, minor metals, iron and bulk ores. The launch of the trading platform was scheduled for November 2000.
Metal Spectrum MetalSpectrum, based in Atlanta, is an on-line marketplace for aluminum, stainless and carbon steel, copper, brass and other specialty metals. The site provides catalog capabilities, forward and reverse auctions, order fulfillment, and request for quotes. The first transaction occured on the site in September 2000.  
Steeldex A european platform which trades all form of steel through a bullet board or auctions. The exchange would be operational by 2001. Steeldex already signed agreements with logistics transport and credit insurance companies.  
Steel exchange India An auction which sells most of the categories of steel. The site is mainly focused for Indian trade, steel comes from India, but buyers can be foreigners. More information coming soon.  
SteelRX SteelRX is based in India, it deals hot rolled, cold rolled and coated, plate, rails, semis, scrap and rebars as well as forging quality bars, stainless products, pipes and tubes, structurals, wire rods and semi-finished products through an auction, a reverse auction or a bullet board. The following services are available: insurance, logistic/transport, quality insurance, expertise. It was launched in June 2000.  
Steelscreen

Steelscreen is based in Europe and available in most european languages. It deals with steel and metals.Founded in june 1999, marketplace launched in february 2000, volume of transactions since then has exceeded US$ 3 millions. Owned by Reuters, Speed Ventures and Prime Technology Ventures.
Other services: trade finance and foreign exchange, hedging, insurance and inspection.
