4th Session of the UNCTAD/Earth Council Policy Forum on Greenhouse
Gas Emissions Trading
Boulder, Colorado USA. 30 July-1 August 2000
The 4th Session of the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Policy Forum was convened by UNCTAD and the Earth Council Institute-Canada, in collaboration with Environmental Defense and with the support of the United Nations Foundation (UNF), in Denver, Colorado, from 30 July to 1 August, 2000. The meeting focussed on national experiences and opportunities, including market entry strategies for developing countries and countries with economies in transition, as well as corporate risks and opportunities as they relate to the development and implementation of national and international greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions trading systems. The Forum itself emerged in 1997 after 6 years of policy research at UNCTAD on the design and implementation of an international greenhouse gas emissions trading system.
