XI, held in São Paulo during the month of June, 2004,
launched a partnership
programme on Information and Communication Technologies for
Development (ICT4D). The partnership programme focuses on key ICT4D
issues among which free and open-source software (FOSS) takes

Improving training for the use of
free and open-source software can be an important contribution to
the development of human capacities in IT communities in developing
countries. Invited partners include civil society organizations
promoting FOSS, international technology companies and UN agencies.
To document and assist the work of
the partnership, this page will carry a list of partners,
a selection of current FOSS events and links to
materials and online resources that may be
useful for FOSS training and education. |
