Activities in 2008 (project and non-project):

  • Elaboration of a new project document for the implementation of DMFAS 5.3 in the Central Bank.

  • Elaboration of a project document for the creation of an interface between DMFAS and IFMIS in the Ministry of Finance

  • DMFAS users from Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank participated at UNCTAD/MEFMI Regional workshop on the DMFAS system, Kampala, in May.

  • On-going DMFAS Programme support (including project management, administrative, documentation and IT) regarding implementation of the DMFAS system as well as on current and future capacity-building activities was provided from Geneva during the year.  In addition to regular contact with the Government about capacity-building needs, DMFAS support in 2008 included DMFAS Helpdesk user support.  The latter has so far responded to 4 country-specific assistance requests during this year.

Planned activities for 2008:
Continued DMFAS support regarding implementation of the DMFAS system as well as other capacity-building activities in debt management.  Including:

  • DMFAS Helpdesk user support;

  • Finalization and approval of the project document for the installation of DMFAS 5.3 in the Central Bank;

  • Implementation of activities related to this project;

  • Finalization and approval of the project document for the creation of an interface between DMFAS and IFMIS in the Ministry of Finance;

  • Implementation of activities related to this project;

  • Discussions with officials from the Ministry of Finance and Central Bank regarding the implementation of DMFAS v 6 in Zambia;

  • Participation in MEFMI - UNCTAD DMFAS Training Workshop, to be held in Zambia in December 2009;

  • Participation of officials from the Ministry of Finance and Central Bank in UNCTAD's 7th Inter-regional Debt Management Conference, November 2009;
