Activities in 2008 (project and non-project):

• A series of communications and a videoconference with Venezuelan authorities in order to revise and readjust project objectives, in May.

• As a result of the discussions by videoconference a mission to Caracas took place on July 2008. Two DMFAS experts on integrated systems gave advice on technical and functional issues in order to help Venezuelan staff finish the final issues of the first phase of the link between the SIGECOF and DMFAS. The experts took advantage of the opportunity in order to produce a plan the final second phase of the integrated system's link. 

• On-going DMFAS Programme support (including project management, administrative, documentation and IT) regarding implementation of the DMFAS system as well as current and future capacity-building activities was provided from Geneva during the year.  In addition to the organization of project activities, this included, for example DMFAS Helpdesk user support.  The latter responded to one country-specific assistance request during the year.

Planned activities:
Continued DMFAS support regarding implementation of the DMFAS system as well as other capacity-building activities in debt management.  Including:

• DMFAS Helpdesk user support

• An advanced workshop in the analytical aspects of debt management.

• Fully implement phase one of the DMFAS -SIGECOF link in January 2009 and initiate phase two of the development. 

• Installation of Version 6 as planned for Fall 2009.
