Activities in 2008 (project and non-project):

• Participation in Pole-Dette / UNCTAD regional workshop on new reporting features of DMFAS 5.3 in Lome, Togo in May;

• Needs assessment mission in June to initiate a new technical cooperation project including activities on debt data validation procedures, on strengthening debt service forecasting processes and management of disbursements, providing support in the production of a debt statistical bulletin and evaluating the linking of DMFAS with the accounting system;

• A mission from the debt office visited UNCTAD in August for training on installing DMFAS under latest Oracle version and on new reporting features of DMFAS 5.3;

• Considering the prevailing country situation, a cooperation project limited on support in producing a statistical bulletin was submitted in October.

Planned activities: 
Continued DMFAS support regarding implementation of the DMFAS system as well as other capacity-building activities in debt management.  Including:

• DMFAS Helpdesk user support;

• Follow-up on implementation of new project on debt statistics;

• Monitor country situation to provide additional support beyond debt statistics.
