Note:
The Ministry is currently developing an integrated system for the management of external finances. The integration of DMFAS into this system is foreseen.
Activities in 2008 (project and non-project):

  • DMFAS technical support mission in January to assist in the programming of interfaces between DMFAS and the integrated system for the management of external finances;

  • Participation in Pole-Dette / UNCTAD regional workshop on new reporting features of DMFAS 5.3 in Lome, Togo, in May.

  • DMFAS training and final project evaluation mission in October.

  • On-going DMFAS Programme support (including project management, administrative, documentation and IT) regarding implementation of the DMFAS system as well as  current and future capacity-building activities was provided from Geneva as well as from Bamako during the year.  In addition to the organization of project activities, this included, for example, an update (patch 20) to the DMFAS system currently installed in the Ministry of Finance as well as user documentation updates.   It also included DMFAS Helpdesk user support.   The latter responded to one country-specific assistance requests during the year.

DMFAS is still not fully deployed among the staff of the debt management department

Planned activities:
Continued DMFAS support regarding implementation of the DMFAS system as well as other capacity-building activities.  Including:

  • DMFAS Helpdesk user support

  • Support for the full deployment of DMFAS in the debt management department

  • Coordination with development partners to initiate a new project on the production of debt statistics, debt portfolio analysis and debt data validation procedures.
